Ideas as Regional Coordinator

How-To guides

Are you new in your role as Regional Coordinator? Here are some ideas to help you get started!

Ideas and implementation will be different depending on the country and community. Keep in mind that the Global Tree Initiative (GTI) is not a funding agency and that we are not a religious organization.

  • There are four ways to get involved and plant trees!
  • Remember the four pillars of tree planting. This makes our tree-planting unique!
  • Get to know your tree-planting community.
  • Ask your church to do a tree-planting day!
  • Collaborate with schools, environmental protection groups, universities, etc.
  • Contact Dharma centers and introduce the GTI and yourself. Propose tree-planting projects together with the GTI.
  • Determine a skillful approach, depending on who you contact.
  • Promote the GTI’s educational, interfaith, community, or environmental aspects.
  • Ask other regional coordinators what they have been doing, get in touch, and share ideas.
  • As a reminder, we can also report and dedicate trees that were PLANTED IN THE PAST.
  • Get friends and family involved – plant a tree for the birth of a newborn child, or the passing away of a loved one.
  • If we know someone who owns a business, we can ask that business if they would like to collaborate with a school/church, etc., and SPONSOR trees. This may give them publicity.
  • Get involved with a local nursery that sells trees / and grows saplings. Their trees can be dedicated before they are sold to the public.

Please fill out this form to record and dedicate all your tree-planting activities.

Once the above-mentioned form has been submitted, the trees, photos, and the story will immediately appear on the global tree-planting map.
